Job summary

Nebius AI R&D is seeking senior- and staff-level ML engineers to advance applied research in physical AI. You will modify and evaluate large foundation models for robotic agents, prototype new capabilities in simulation, and validate approaches on real-world systems.

Responsibilities span building scalable ML systems, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and publishing results. You will contribute to a fast-moving, global AI infrastructure agenda in Amsterdam and beyond.

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of machine learning foundations (RL, agent learning).
• Expertise in at least one area: RL, imitation, multimodal modeling, CV, robotics, planning, or control.
• Experience training and evaluating large deep learning models (transformers/multimodal).
• Experience with distributed training across multiple nodes and large datasets.
• Strong software engineering and Python skills; experience with JAX or similar.

Responsibilities

• Design, train, and evaluate large models for robotic agents.
• Develop vision-language-action architectures connecting perception to control.
• Investigate RL and imitation methods for challenging objectives.
• Incorporate demonstrations, simulation data, and real-world data into foundation models.
• Create data pipelines, evaluation protocols, and research software infrastructure.
• Prototype capabilities in dexterous and mobile manipulation in simulation and real robots.
• Collaborate with research and engineering teams to translate ideas into real systems.
• Communicate results via reports, open-source releases, and publications.
