Job description
As a Senior Mechatronics Designer, you develop mechatronic solutions for high-tech products and machines.

In this role, you support our customers in developing and integrating high-tech systems where extreme conditions like ultra-high vacuum in combination with accurate positioning and high-speed movements play an important part. You will work for customers in the semiconductor, analytical, and medical equipment industry, within the Brainport region and beyond. Your mechatronics expertise plays a guiding role in bringing high-tech solutions to life, like wafer steppers and electron microscopes.

What function?

In this role, you support our customers in developing and integrating high-tech systems where extreme conditions like ultra-high vacuum in combination with accurate positioning and high-speed movements play an important part. You will work for customers in the semiconductor, analytical, and medical equipment industry, within the Brainport region and beyond. Your mechatronics expertise plays a guiding role in bringing high-tech solutions to life, like wafer steppers and electron microscopes.

What excites you as a Senior Mechatronics Designer?

From our office in Eindhoven and sometimes at our clients\' premises you like to keep yourself busy with:

  • Leading a team of Mechatronics designers and engineers in high-tech projects; define work packages, monitor progress, and adjust as needed.
  • Translating customer requirements into technical specifications and leading the creation of concepts for motion drivetrains and control architectures.
  • Collaborating with the project leader and system architect to coordinate Mechatronics work packages and align with other disciplines such as Mechanics, Software, Electronics, and Electrical.
  • Acting as a technical sparring partner; identify risks, provide feedback, and guide junior colleagues within the team.
  • Proactively identifying risks (time, budget, technical) within Mechatronics packages and developing mitigation plans together with internal stakeholders.
  • Possessing solid expertise in at least four of the following areas: Dynamics, Modeling and Simulation, System Identification, Motion Control, embedded control platforms, hardware (sensors, actuators, drives), and control software.
  • Thriving on enabling the first motion of a prototype, resolving integration issues, refining the design, and successfully completing acceptance tests.
