Job summary

Loop is seeking a Senior Product Design Engineering Lead to drive mechanical development from concept to mass production. You will lead cross-functional squads, translate product requirements into manufacturable, reliable systems, and set high standards for CAD, tolerancing, and documentation.

You will oversee material and process selection, perform root cause analysis, and ensure manufacturability, reliability, and elegant design throughout development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related field.
• 8+ years of mechanical product design experience, ideally in consumer electronics or hardware.
• Deep expertise in 3D CAD with understanding of tolerancing, material selection, and mechanical stack ups.

Responsibilities

• Own system level mechanical architecture from concept to production readiness.
• Translate the PRD into an Engineering Requirements Document guiding design, validation, and reliability testing.
• Drive material and manufacturing process selection aligned with performance, cost, and timelines.
• Lead structured root cause analysis and risk mitigation for mechanical issues.
• Collaborate with Industrial Design, Product, Operations, Quality, Sourcing, and suppliers.
• Guide cross functional technical decisions and frame trade offs for long term goals.
• Drive engineering sprints enabling milestones like PRD lock, vendor selection, and gate reviews.
