Job summary

The Specialist Group is seeking an experienced engineering professional to lead material and corrosion activities within oil & gas projects in the Netherlands. The role focuses on safety, reliability, and sustainability, with responsibility for selecting methods, materials, and procedures in line with project specifications and standards.

Ideal candidates bring 5–10 years in oil & gas, a relevant engineering degree, and proficiency in design tools and systems engineering.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant technical discipline.
• 5–10 years of relevant experience within the Oil & Gas industry.
• Strong knowledge of Materials & Corrosion engineering and Piping Materials.
• Experience with engineering design and calculation tools.
• Knowledge of concept development and detailed engineering.
• Understanding of Systems Engineering and engineering interfaces.
• Experience with site engineering and technical analysis.
• Strong planning and coordination skills.
• Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with multidisciplinary project teams.
• Experience with international codes, standards and engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Engineer and develop Material & Corrosion solutions within assigned project scopes, with a strong focus on safety, reliability and sustainability.
• Select appropriate methods, materials and engineering procedures in line with project specifications, international codes, industry standards and applicable regulations.
• Deliver engineering activities and technical deliverables within agreed schedules and budgets.
• Ensure the assigned Scope of Work meets contractual requirements and internal engineering standards.
• Coordinate technical interfaces within the project and ensure alignment between relevant disciplines and systems.
• Apply relevant lessons learned and assess their impact across project and system boundaries.
• Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors and other external parties regarding technical requirements and deliverables.
• Take technical responsibility for assigned equipment or packages, including design, procurement and manufacturing where applicable.
• Provide technical guidance to engineers working within the assigned scope.
• Depending on experience, act as Discipline Lead with responsibility for the technical delivery of the assigned scope.
