Job summary

RELX is seeking a senior leader to define and drive AI and data science strategy across ML, NLP, search, and generative AI. You will guide teams through full AI lifecycles, align work to product goals, and influence senior stakeholders to achieve measurable business outcomes.

You will lead high-performing teams, foster collaboration, and shape roadmaps with cross-functional partners across product, technology, and business units.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in data science, AI/ML, NLP, information retrieval or related field.
• Strong technical expertise across modern data science methods, including ML, experimentation, deep learning, generative AI, and production AI systems.
• Hands-on experience delivering AI-powered products, including LLMs, RAG, semantic search, embeddings, agentic workflows, and knowledge-driven systems.
• Proven success leading and developing technical teams in complex product, platform, or research environments.
• Experience working with large, complex datasets and building scalable, maintainable, production-ready AI/ML systems.
• Strong people leadership, prioritization, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to turn ambiguity into clear strategy and measurable outcomes.

Primary Location Base Pay Range: NLD Amsterdam (Radarweg) €100,400 - €167,300. This role is covered by the Collective Labor Agreement Publishing Industry.
