Job description
What You Will Be Doing
Team Leadership
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 10-20 people in various roles between accounting managers, supervisors/seniors, and accountants, across multiple sites and locations, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Conduct performance evaluations, identify training needs, set goals and provide ongoing feedback and coaching.
Plan and manage team workload to ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks.
Facilitate knowledge sharing and cross-training within the team.
Collaborate with other CoE leadership to drive standardization and process enhancements across the organization.
Close Effectiveness
Oversee the accounting close process across the financial statements and supplemental data gathering for all relevant sites, ensuring data is accurate and OneStream submission and controls deadlines are met effectively and consistently.
Support the team in performing Monthly Balance Sheet reviews and working with the business and SSC (Shared Service Centre) to ensure compliance with US GAAP and JBT Marel standards.
Actively lead and participate in the effort of the team to investigate and resolve accounting issues effectively and timely.
Ensure integrity and reliability of all financial transactions and that they are in accordance with US GAAP and JBT Marel standards, including compliance with SOX.
Oversee the proper execution of internal, external and tax audits both for US GAAP and Statutory and hold the team accountable to timely submission of requests and responses, leading the team in defining and executing remediation efforts.
Ensure timely reporting of financial statements as well as other regional reporting requirements.
Process Improvement & Strategy
Proactively participate in strategic initiatives and identifying opportunities for standardization and optimization across the close and reporting processes, including developing project plans, coordinating cross-functionally and leading the team to execute the projects to successful completion.
Encourage the team to create and implement best practices to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness across the close and reporting processes.
Leverage technology and automation tools to streamline accounting operations.
Lead the efforts to implement and maintain accounting software and ERP systems.
Who Are You
Education
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field required.
Professional certification (ACCA or CPA) is highly desirable.
Experience
Minimum of 10 years of accounting/auditing experience, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
Skills
Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting standards.
Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, JDE, SL9, LN).
