Job summary

Reddit is hiring a Staff Machine Learning Engineer for the Ads Foundational Representations team. You will set technical direction, lead cross-functional ML projects, and build embeddings for ads, posts, and users. The role is remote in the UK or Netherlands.

You will mentor MLEs, shape embedding strategies for content relevance, work with LLMs/VLMs, and ensure scalable data pipelines and robust evaluation. 7+ years of experience and staff-level leadership are required.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in ML/AI leadership.
• Proven track record delivering embeddings, models, and ML systems.
• Experience leading cross-functional ML projects.

Responsibilities

• Providing technical leadership and mentorship to MLEs.
• Developing technical strategy for content-based embeddings & relevance for Ads.
• Developing embedding models for advertising use cases.
• Collaborating with LLMs/VLMs to build state-of-the-art embeddings.
• Building data processing and inference pipelines for the models we develop.
• Qualitative and quantitative evaluation of the various features we develop.
• Ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of the ML systems.
• Participating in modeling and coding reviews.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements.
