Job summary

Doghouse Recruitment client seeks an experienced Java Developer to join a data integration platform serving the logistics sector. The role focuses on a Java 21 backend, with homegrown frameworks, Jetty/Netty and JPA, delivering new features while modernizing the system.

Responsibilities include building scalable backend services, improving observability, and collaborating across teams. Strong English communication and a customer-focused mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong core Java knowledge.
• Good understanding of concurrency, multithreading, and parallel processing.
• Experience working with complex or mature codebases.
• Understanding of backend architecture and APIs.
• Willingness to work with and improve legacy code.
• A customer-focused and product-oriented mindset.
• Strong communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Develop 70% of new features on a large Java 21 platform using core Java and homegrown frameworks.
• Maintain and address technical debt to improve stability and performance.
• Work on distributed systems, REST APIs, observability, and platform modernization.
• Collaborate with product teams to deliver robust backend capabilities.
