Job summary

Michael Bailey Associates is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, and operate modern on-premise and hybrid infrastructure platforms. The role involves hands-on work across Linux, datacenters, storage, networking, and Kubernetes orchestration to deliver reliable, automated, production-grade platforms for critical workloads.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in infrastructure engineering, systems engineering or similar technical role.
• Strong hands-on experience with Linux operating systems.
• Proven experience in on-premise/datacenter environments.
• Extensive experience operating Kubernetes platforms in production.
• Solid understanding of server hardware, virtualization, networking and storage.
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code and automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible.
• Ability to design and implement automated infrastructure provisioning and operational processes.
• Experience maintaining technical documentation and runbooks.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and operate on-premise and hybrid infrastructure platforms.
• Deploy, configure and maintain bare-metal servers and virtualized environments.
• Build and operate production Kubernetes platforms.
• Perform Kubernetes day-2 operations, including upgrades, networking and storage management.
• Maintain reliable and scalable infrastructure supporting business-critical workloads.
• Work across Linux OS, server hardware, virtualization, networking and storage technologies.
• Implement automation and Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using Terraform and Ansible.
• Create and maintain architecture documentation and operational runbooks.
• Contribute to improving platform reliability, scalability and operational processes.
• Support security hardening and compliance requirements.
