Job summary

Octave is seeking a Senior Implementation Consultant for a new public safety project in Hoofddorp, Netherlands. You will lead implementation and integration activities from design through deployment, working with customers to map processes, requirements, and data structures.

You will configure solutions, design integrations, conduct testing, train users, and support pre‑sales. Dutch and English fluency, a valid driver’s license, and at least five years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience.
• Dutch and English language proficiency.
• Valid driving licence.
• Knowledge of Databases and SQL (preferably Microsoft SQL Server); Web technologies and services; Azure DevOps; JSON, XML, HTML and scripting languages such as PowerShell.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute implementation and integration activities from design through deployment.
• Work closely with customers and partners to understand business processes, requirements, workflows, and data structures.
• Configure and customize solutions to meet functional and technical requirements.
• Design and implement integrations with customer systems, APIs, databases, and third‑party platforms.
• Conduct and oversee system, integration, and user acceptance testing to ensure solution quality and performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve implementation and integration issues, collaborating with Product and Engineering teams where required.
• Produce and maintain project documentation, including functional designs, configuration standards, integration specifications, and testing documentation.
• Deliver customer training and knowledge transfer sessions to support successful solution adoption.
• Contribute to pre‑sales activities, including technical scoping, demonstrations, solution design discussions, and proposal support.
• Ensure adherence to customer service level objectives and support contract commitments.
• Identify opportunities for service expansion and upselling where appropriate.

• Provide technical leadership for complex implementation and integration projects.
• Mentor and coach less experienced consultants on methodologies, standards, and best practices.
• Support customer architecture discussions and strategic technical decisions.
• Provide expert feedback to Product, Engineering, and Services teams to continuously improve solutions and delivery approaches.

Education / Qualifications

• Knowledge of:
  • Databases and SQL (preferably Microsoft SQL Server)
  • Web technologies and services
  • Azure DevOps
  • JSON, XML, HTML and scripting languages such as PowerShell

Preferred

• Experience within Public Safety, Emergency Services, Police, Fire Brigade, Ambulance, or Civil Protection environments.
• Knowledge of Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), GIS, Radio, or Telephony solutions.
• Experience with operating systems administration (Windows Server and Desktop).
• Knowledge of JavaScript and React.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes.

Security Clearance Requirement

Due to the nature of our customers and projects, successful candidates must be eligible to obtain access authorization for high‑security sites and provide evidence of a clean criminal record. This is a mandatory requirement for employment within our Public Safety business.
