Job summary

ISISPACE Group in the Netherlands is seeking a senior software lead for the Ground Segment (GS) software team. You will own the architecture, set the technical roadmap, and drive development of our Mission Control Software for the next-generation satellites.

The role requires a Master’s degree, 6+ years in software design, strong Python and/or C++, and experience with distributed service-based architectures. You will mentor the team, perform reviews, and collaborate with users and management.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a comparable field.
• 6+ years in designing and developing software systems.
• Domain knowledge: ground segment software systems.
• Proficiency in Python and/or C++.
• Experience leading software projects through full lifecycle.
• Experience with distributed architectures (service-based, microservices).
• Familiarity with GitLab CI/CD and deployment strategies.
• Strong English communication; independent and collaborative work style.
• Eligible for Dutch security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Own the ground segment software technical roadmap and align with company goals.
• Lead the ground segment software architecture and development per roadmap.
• Design and develop extensions and new applications; maintain existing software with users.
• Evaluate technologies, perform trade-offs, propose design changes.
• Provide technical coaching to the Ground Segment software team.
• Conduct code and design reviews.
