Job summary

Aidsfonds - SOA Aids Nederland is seeking a Senior Project Officer for the EmpowHER Fund, based in the Netherlands to strengthen grantmaking and portfolio management.

This role is not remote; it is a hybrid position in Amsterdam Sloterdijk, 32 hours per week, starting ASAP. You will oversee grants, support Grant Officers, and translate strategy into practice with PMEL, finance and partners.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years in international grant and programme management.
• Commitment to advancing women’s and girls’ SRHR and rights.
• Experience guiding a project team and ensuring grant quality.

Responsibilities

• Act as sparring partner to the Fund Manager on portfolio direction and risks.
• Develop Calls for Proposals and grantmaking approaches.
• Translate governance decisions into practical grantmaking implications.
• Oversee day-to-day grants portfolio management, including risks and compliance.
• Lead grant assessment, development, monitoring, renewal and closure.
• Strengthen portfolio coherence and learning across partners.
