Job summary

Voodoo is seeking a senior backend engineer to lead server-side evolution for Castle Busters, moving from client-authoritative to server-validated gameplay. You will design scalable backend systems and APIs to support a competitive multiplayer title, with emphasis on reliability and performance.

Working with client engineers and game designers, you will implement server logic for metagame validation, player state management, and seamless integration with the Unity client using Golang, SQL/NoSQL

Qualifications

7+ years of backend development experience.
Fluency in Golang with professional experience.
Strong knowledge of CS fundamentals.
Mastery of SQL and NoSQL databases.
Experience with high-scale systems.
Experience in cross-functional agile teams.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Interest in game development is a plus.

Responsibilities

Build server-side validation for the metagame, currencies, upgrades, chest openings, and progression.
Move toward server authority for competitive features with centralized game state.
Design APIs and player-state management for the Unity client integration.
