Job summary

SES Satellites in The Hague is seeking a Legal Counsel, Labor and Employment to navigate EU and Dutch employment law within a multinational satellite company. You will advise on workforce matters across jurisdictions and help shape global employment strategy.

The role involves drafting and reviewing employment contracts for engineers and staff, ensuring compliance with GDPR and Dutch/EU regulations, managing trade unions relations, and collaborating with HR on DEI-friendly policies.

Qualifications

• Law degree with specialization in labor or employment law.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant employment law experience.
• Strong knowledge of Dutch and EU employment regulations.
• Excellent English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Drafting and reviewing employment contracts for engineers, sales teams, and staff located in multiple jurisdictions.
• Advising on compliance with the Dutch Working Conditions Act, GDPR implications for employee data, and EU directives on temporary agency work.
• Managing relationships with trade unions, handling grievances, and representing the company in labor tribunals.
• Collaborating with HR to design inclusive policies that support diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) goals.
• Providing strategic input on workforce restructuring during satellite launch phases or when integrating newly acquired entities.
