Job summary

TRACT is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to build our insights platform with spec-driven development. You’ll write the specification first, get it reviewed, and see it implemented against it. Your name appears on both the spec and the commit.

You’ll work across Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, BigQuery, and React with TypeScript, using trunk-based development behind feature flags. Occasionally you’ll step into Lead Engineer to align RFCs and coordinate Product/Design.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in industry, 3+ in a senior role, strong foundation in system design.
• Proficient in Python and React with TypeScript, and comfortable with FastAPI, PostgreSQL, and BigQuery.
• You write clearly. Specs, RFCs, review comments, decision logs.
• You're a rigorous reviewer who reads the whole diff and flags problems.
• You're already working with AI coding tools and have opinions about their impact.

Responsibilities

• Take end-to-end ownership: design, implementation, deployment and monitoring.
• Lead RFCs or tech specs on significant initiatives, aligning the team.
• Work across the stack (Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, BigQuery, React TS) with feature flags.
• Mentor and review, ensure code is understood before shipping.
