Job summary

VÆRIDION seeks a (Senior) Flight Control System Engineer to lead the design and integration of mechanical and electrical flight control systems for a 100% electric aircraft. You’ll own system requirements, architecture, interface management and supplier coordination while ensuring compliance with CS-23/25 standards.

You will drive the development lifecycle from concept through certification, collaborating with flight physics, structures, and avionics teams.

Qualifications

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience in development of mechanically actuated aircraft flight control systems, preferably within Part 23 aircraft programs under DOA or international equivalent.
  • Strong background in systems engineering applied to flight controls, including requirement capture, functional decomposition, interface definition, and traceability.
  • Experience in design, integration, assembly, and testing of mechanical primary flight control systems (kinematics, load transmission, tolerances, friction, and play).
  • Experience across full product development lifecycle: architecture, preliminary and detailed design, verification, validation, and certification (Part 23 or Part 25).
  • Knowledge of airworthiness and certification processes and interaction with authorities.
  • Excellent English communication; European language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Define and manage system-level requirements for the flight control system, aligned with aircraft requirements and certification regulations.
  • Perform system-level functional analysis, architecture definition, interfaces, and traceability management.
  • Lead detailed definition, development, and integration of the flight control system including installation design, kinematics, load paths, performance, reliability and safety considerations.
  • Coordinate and oversee suppliers and development partners, including requirements allocation, design reviews, verification activities, and compliance demonstrations.
  • Support system safety activities (FHA/SFHA, PSSA, Zonal Safety Analysis) per airworthiness standards.
  • Contribute to DMU integration and configuration control with structures and other systems.
  • Support certification activities, including certification plans, checklists, qualification documentation, and test campaigns.
