Job summary

Vink Recruitment & TAU Engineering in the Netherlands seeks a Lead Planner to manage scheduling for a large EPC construction project. You will develop integrated schedules spanning engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover, and provide reliable forecasts to keep the project on track.

You will coordinate with project management, engineering, procurement and construction teams, drive look‑ahead planning, monitor critical paths and prepare progress dashboards and reports

Responsibilities

• Develop the baseline schedule, work breakdown structure, key milestones and planning procedures in line with contractual requirements.
• Integrate engineering deliverables, equipment procurement, subcontractor activities and site execution into a coordinated project schedule.
• Work closely with project management, engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning teams to validate sequencing and interfaces.
• Review subcontractor schedules and ensure alignment with the overall project programme.
• Monitor progress against the approved baseline and assess critical paths, float, emerging delays and schedule risks.
• Prepare resource-loaded schedules and assess manpower, equipment and productivity requirements.
• Conduct regular schedule updates using verified progress data from project teams and subcontractors.
• Develop look-ahead schedules with construction teams to support daily and weekly site execution.
• Identify constraints, evaluate their impact and coordinate mitigation and recovery plans with responsible teams.
• Assess the schedule impact of scope changes, variations and unforeseen events.
• Support delay analysis and extension-of-time assessments with accurate schedule records and supporting evidence.
• Prepare progress reports, dashboards, S-curves and forecasts for project leadership and the client.
• Lead planning meetings and clearly communicate priorities, deviations and corrective actions.
• Ensure schedules reflect site access, permits, safety requirements, shutdown windows and commissioning dependencies.
• Guide junior planners and promote consistent planning standards across the project.
