Job summary

Flynn, a first-generation construction company with operations across Ireland, UK and Northern Europe, seeks an experienced Senior Engineer to join the Netherlands project team to manage on-site works safely and in line with drawings and Building Regulations.

You will lead day-to-day engineering tasks, ensure quality controls, liaise with consultants and subcontractors, and support delivery within programme and budget, with a clear career path to Site Manager.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in a Site Engineer or Senior Engineer role on large-scale construction projects.
• Strong understanding of QA/QC processes, inspection test plans, quality documentation.
• Proficiency in setting out, surveying, levelling and site control systems.
• Knowledge of construction techniques and temporary works coordination.
• Strong numeracy and report writing skills.

• Oversee site technical & engineering requirements (RFIs, Submittals, Shop Drawings, Design Team workshops).
• Ensure QA/QC measures on site align with BCAR plan and project standards.

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Engineer with a strong track record in setting out, quality assurance and project delivery to join our high performing project team in the Netherlands.

REPORTING TO: Project Manager/Contracts Manager

Purpose of Role

Manage construction works on site to ensure that they are completed safely in line with the program & in accordance with the project drawings, specifications & Building Regulations.

Role Responsibilities

• Assume day-to-day management of the site technical & engineering requirements (RFIs, Submittals, Shop Drawings, Design Team Workshops, etc.).
• Ensure quality control measures on the site are implemented and are in line with the overall BCAR plan for the project.
• Liaise with any consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors in the planning & construction of the project.
• Support the Project Manager/Contracts Manager to ensure that works are completed as per programme, on budget to a high standard.
• Identify any information gaps, develop solutions and rectify in conjunction with the project and design teams.
• Maintain excellent relationships with the construction project team and subcontractors.

The Candidate

• Third level qualification in Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a Site Engineer or Senior Engineer role on large-scale construction projects.
• Strong understanding of QA/QC processes, inspection test plans, quality documentation and defect prevention
• Highly competent in all aspects of setting out, surveying, levelling and managing site control systems.
• Knowledge of various types of construction and construction techniques.
• Competent in all aspects of set out, survey & level, temporary works co-ordination.
• Strong numeracy and report writing skills.
• Ability to formulate plans and execute in line with budget and timeline.
• Ability to make informed decisions & know when to elevate.
• Computer literate and familiar with MS Project, (or similar scheduling package).
