Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Senior Engagement Manager to lead consultants, partners and client teams in delivering AWS cloud solutions. You will guide engagements from pre-sales through delivery, coordinating cross-functional efforts across sales, engineering and support to meet business objectives.

The role requires experience leading multiple Agile teams and delivering enterprise IT engagements, with beneficial PM certifications and AWS credentials.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading multiple Agile teams at scale.
• Track record delivering enterprise IT engagements.
• PM certification is advantageous (APM/CSM/PMI-ACP/PRINCE2).
• AWS certification is advantageous.
• Experience with Jira/Rally/VersionOne/Taiga and other PM tools.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with AWS field sales, pre-sales, training and support teams to help partners and customers learn and use AWS services.
• Define and deliver on-site technical engagements with partners and customers, including pre-sales visits and proposing packaged offerings.
• Deliver on-site projects that demonstrate AWS services and support migrations or new app development across cloud environments.
• Work with AWS engineering and support to convey partner and customer feedback to technology roadmaps.

Engagement Managers, manage and deliver AWS cloud products and services that enable our customers to realize their business objectives. These professional services engagements focus on the full platform of AWS customer solutions to help our customers and partners remove constraints and accelerate their journey to AWS.

AWS Professional Services engage in a wide variety of projects for customers and partners, providing collective AWS customer experience, best practices, and obsessing about strong success for the Customer. Our team collaborates across the entire AWS organization to bring access to product, service, and training teams, to deliver the right solutions and drive feature innovations for our customers across all industries. Engagement Managers help Customers make decisions to meet their technical and business objectives by providing best practices, proactively identifying and closing project gaps.

Key job responsibilities

• Expertise - Collaborate with AWS field sales, pre-sales, training and support teams to help partners and customers learn and use such as Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3), Amazon SimpleDB/RDS databases, AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM), etc.
• Solutions - Define and deliver on-site technical engagements with partners and customers. This includes participating in pre-sales on-site visits, understanding customer requirements, and proposing and delivering packaged offerings, and delivering custom solution engagements.
• Delivery - Engagements include short on-site projects proving the use of AWS services to support new distributed computing solutions that often span private cloud and public cloud services. Engagements will include migration of existing applications and development of new applications using AWS cloud services.
• Insights - Work with AWS engineering and support teams to convey partner and customer needs and feedback as input to technology roadmaps. Share real world implementation challenges and recommend new capabilities that would simplify adoption and drive greater value from use of AWS cloud services.

Basic Qualifications

• Experience in leading multiple Agile teams (like Scrum Masters, Product Owners) concurrently or at scale
• Experience in leading and delivering enterprise-level IT engagements

Preferred Qualifications

• active project management certification (e.g., APM, CSM, PMI-ACP, PRINCE2)
• AWS certification
• Experience with Agile and project management toolsets like Jira, Rally, VersionOne or Taiga
• Experience working with and presenting to C-level executives, IT, and lines of businesses across organizations or equivalent
