Job summary

Nebius in Amsterdam is seeking a pragmatic Senior Employment Counsel to act as the primary legal partner to the HR team.

The role will lead advice on employment and labour law (mostly Dutch) across the full employee lifecycle, including employment terms, compensation and benefits, performance and conduct matters, sickness and absence, investigations, reorganisations, terminations, settlement arrangements and employee disputes.

Qualifications

• A Dutch law degree or equivalent qualification with strong employment law focus.
• At least 7 years of post-qualification legal experience, in-house or law firm, with Dutch employment and labour law.
• Fluency in Dutch and English, written and spoken.
• Experience advising and working with a Dutch Works Council.
• Broad employee-relations experience including disputes, investigations, terminations and compensation matters.
• Strong drafting and negotiation skills across employment-related documents.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary legal contact for the HR team and HQ units on employment and labour law matters.
• Advise on the full employee lifecycle including recruitment, onboarding, performance, investigations, disciplinary actions and terminations.
• Manage employee disputes and coordinate with external counsel for settlements or litigation.
• Advise on compensation, benefits, equity, and changes to terms and conditions in partnership with HR and C&B.
• Draft and maintain Dutch employment agreements, policies, handbooks and related templates.
• Coordinate with the Dutch Works Council and ensure timely follow-up of information and consent processes.
• Lead international employment-law workstreams for new jurisdictions and translate advice into practical steps.
• Build scalable employment-law infrastructure including templates, country playbooks and workflows.
• Monitor legal developments and provide training to HR, managers and stakeholders.
