Job summary

Synthomer plc is seeking a DCS Engineer to join the Dutch engineering team in Middelburg. You will design ABB 800xA control systems for new projects and changes, ensuring safe, interruption-free operation of plant DCS, and coordinating between Production, Process Engineering and Instrumentation.

You will lead system maintenance, migrations, and project execution while mentoring colleagues and coordinating with contractors to uphold safety and regulatory standards onsite.

Qualifications

Targeted Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field; Master's preferred.
Thorough understanding of ABB 800xA automation software.

Responsibilities

Provide ABB 800xA software application / control systems design for new projects and changes.
Ensure DCS modifications are configured and installed; maintain stable operation.
Support system maintenance, upgrades, and contractor supervision.
Manage projects and MOC’s including budgeting, scheduling, and resources.
Train manufacturing and maintenance colleagues; liaise with automation company experts.
Ensure safety and compliance of DCS systems per regulations.
