Job summary

Google Netherlands is seeking a data center engineer to lead system-level design and integration for next-generation facilities. You will collaborate with cross-discipline teams to define architectures and develop procedures for operations and maintenance of critical data center infrastructure.

Experience in electrical infrastructure and data center design is required, with a strong emphasis on cross-functional teamwork and adherence to codes and standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience in mission critical facility design and construction environments.
• Experience in electrical infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Define data center system-level, product architecture, and Research and Development, while helping to develop operations and maintenance procedures for systems/processes.
• Conduct engineering analysis and research designs and methods of data center equipment and facilities.
• Ensure designs and installations meet requirements (e.g., predicted cooling, structural, operational concerns, etc.).

Job description

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience in mission critical facility design and construction environments.
• Experience in electrical infrastructure.

Preferred qualifications

• Master's degree in Engineering, Business or other relevant field or a professional engineering license.
• Experience in estimating, electrical design, operation, and commissioning of substations, switchgear, ATP/ATS, emergency power systems and their control systems, power monitoring, and electrical protection.
• Experience with medium voltage systems.
• Experience in design, construction, and commissioning of high voltage substations, medium or low voltage electrical distribution systems, AC/DC systems, and associated power management or SCADA tools.
• Experience with cross-discipline teams (e.g., structural, civil, IT/Telecom, security, mechanical, architectural).
• Experience with data center equipment, environments, and start up or commissioning processes.
