Job summary

Google’s Data Center Engineering team is looking for a Senior Datacenter Engineer (Electrical Engineering) to advance the physical design of data centers, focusing on power and infrastructure optimization. You will drive improvements, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure compliance with standards.

Qualified candidates possess a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, five years in mission-critical facilities, and experience with electrical infrastructure.

• Conduct engineering analysis and research designs and methods of data center equipment and facilities.
• Ensure designs and installations meet requirements (e.g., predicted cooling, structural, operational concerns, etc.).

• 5 years of experience in mission critical facility design and construction environments.
• Experience in electrical infrastructure.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree in Engineering, Business or other relevant field or a professional engineering license.
• Experience in estimating, electrical design, operation, and commissioning of substations, switchgear, ATP/ATS, emergency power systems and their control systems, power monitoring, and electrical protection.
• Experience with medium voltage systems.
• Experience in design, construction, and commissioning of high voltage substations, medium or low voltage electrical distribution systems, AC/DC systems, and associated power management or SCADA tools.
• Experience with cross-discipline teams (e.g., structural, civil, IT/Telecom, security, mechanical, architectural).
• Experience with data center equipment, environments, and start up or commissioning processes.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
