Job summary

McKinsey & Company is seeking a Senior Data Science Analyst for OptimusAI, based in Brussels. You will join a tight-knit team of experts delivering AI-driven insights to energy and materials clients, shaping product roadmaps and the analytic toolkit.

You will collaborate with product engineers and client teams, presenting findings to senior stakeholders and driving improvements in plant productivity through data analytics. Expect global project exposure and rapid growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in data science, computer science, engineering, or a related field
• 3+ years of hands-on analytics experience in heavy industry environments
• Advanced Python programming with clean, modular code
• Proven ability to implement and maintain MLOps pipelines
• Strong DevOps and backend engineering capabilities including CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes
• Self-starter with excellent organizational abilities
• Ability to make data-driven decisions
• Strong written and verbal English communication
• Ability to create high-quality outputs (presentations, models, articles)
• Exceptional time management for a largely autonomous role
• Willingness to work outside traditional hours and travel when needed
• Experience tailoring communication to senior audiences

Responsibilities

• Collaborate in a multi-disciplinary team to drive client performance in energy efficiency, product quality, and capacity
• Develop innovative AI products and algorithms for current and future client needs
• Codify best practices and shape the OptimusAI product roadmap
• Present insights directly to executive audiences
• Contribute to real-time AI advisory systems and data-driven process changes
• Travel to client sites locally and globally as needed
