Job summary

Adyen is seeking a Data Scientist to join the Experimentation Platform team in Amsterdam. You will research and implement advanced statistical methods to deliver robust signals across business domains, while collaborating with engineers and other data scientists to turn insights into scalable features.

The role requires 5+ years in data science with experimental design and a strong foundation in frequentist and Bayesian methods, plus experience with big data pipelines and the PySpark/Pandas

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a data scientist,incl. experimentation platform work.
• Master’s or PhD in Statistics, Math, Data Science, CS, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of frequentist and Bayesian hypothesis testing and causal inference.
• Experience designing and analysing controlled experiments with business impact.
• Experience with big data pipelines and data engineering principles.
• Proficient with PySpark, Pandas, SciPy, NumPy and Airflow.

Responsibilities

• Research and implement industry-leading statistical methods for robust signals.
• Develop domain knowledge to prioritise methods that maximise business value.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest research in hypothesis testing.
• Collaborate with backend/frontend/data engineers to scope requirements for features.
• Collaborate with data scientists to apply novel statistical techniques.
• Work closely with platform users to enable success.
• Promote an experiment-driven culture and product development practices.
