Job summary

Adyen is seeking a Senior Software Engineer AI/ML - Payments to join our Amsterdam team. You will own end-to-end development of bespoke AI tools, prototype high-impact agentic systems, and shape production-grade AI infrastructure for scale within a payments platform.

You will collaborate with product and engineering to deploy robust AI capabilities, evaluate new frameworks, and raise engineering standards while ensuring in-person collaboration at our Amsterdam office.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on experience in applied AI/ML research or engineering.
• Proven experience shipping AI systems, including agentic or LLM-powered systems, in production.
• Deep expertise in language models and Generative AI, including architecture and RLHF.
• Experience designing and operating agentic systems at scale and multi-agent orchestration.
• Strong foundation in classical ML, optimization, statistics; production-ready Python code.

Responsibilities

• Discover and build AI prototypes (MVPs) that address critical business challenges.
• Own end-to-end development of bespoke AI tools at Adyen’s scale.
• Lead evaluation strategies for agentic systems and LLMs with robust benchmarks.
• Provide AI expertise across the organization; evaluate frameworks and tool-use.
• Raise engineering standards, mentor teams, and drive reproducibility and docs.
