Vinted is seeking a Senior Data Engineer for its Marketplace Trust & Safety Detection platform. You will join a mission-driven team, building streaming detection capabilities to protect the community and deliver scalable, reliable data processing across Europe.

The role emphasizes hands-on development, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and a strong focus on performance, safety, and operational excellence within a hybrid work model.

• Experience with data streaming platforms and pipelines.
• Strong JVM language experience and Java proficiency.
• Familiarity with modern software development life-cycle and CI/CD practices.
• Understanding of infrastructure concepts: compute, storage, network.

Information About The Position

Vinted’s Marketplace Trust & Safety domain product team is looking for a Senior Data Engineer. A friendly and knowledgeable team with big ambitions is looking for a new member to join the journey of building a Detection platform requiring streaming capabilities. You will be joining the Detection Product team, with a mission to protect the Vinted community from harmful activities and content. The Detection teams are engaged in detecting, understanding, and stopping actors involved in dangerous or inappropriate activities by building a detection platform.

In this position, you’ll

• Contribute to building foundational capabilities for the Detection platform
• Solve technical problems that have a large scope, complexity, and business impact
• Recognise impediments to our efficiency as a team, propose and implement solutions
• Advocate for improvements to product, performance, and safety

About You

• Exposure to Data streaming frameworks such as Flink is a strong plus
• Knowledge of Spark Streaming, Storm, Kafka Streams, Kinesis, etc
• Experience with programming in Java or other JVM language
• Knowledge of agile, DevOps & Automation - testing, build, deployment, CI/CD, etc
• Good understanding of general infrastructure areas – compute, storage, network
• Experience with modern software development life-cycleWorking proficiency and communication skills in written and verbal English
• Self-motivated and self-managing, with excellent organisational skills
