Qualifications

What You’ll Do

As a Senior Data Engineer, you'll work across a modern stack that includes Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Data Lake, and Scala-based back-end systems. You will play a central role in designing and implementing robust data pipelines, working with high-volume structured and unstructured data, and integrating advanced contextual intelligence using Quantexa.

You will:

  • Build scalable data architectures and back-end pipelines in Azure (Data Lake, Synapse, Fabric)
  • Work with Power BI to enable reporting, dashboarding, and data modeling for client insights
  • Engineer robust data integration and processing systems using Scala, Spark, Hadoop, and Elastic
  • Contribute to and optimize CI/CD pipelines and production-grade environments
  • Engage directly with clients on fraud, compliance, and financial crime use cases
  • Cross-train into Quantexa, learning its powerful graph-based data models and contextual network analytics
  • Collaborate closely in Agile teams with Data Scientists, Solution Architects, and Business Analysts
Requirements

We’re looking for an engineer who is passionate about solving real-world problems using advanced data technologies and ready to grow into the next generation of platforms:

Must-have:

  • Proven experience with big data technologies (Spark, Hadoop, Elasticsearch, etc.)
  • Experience coding in Scala or strong proficiency in Java or Python
  • Experience working in Agile environments with cross-functional teams
  • Knowledge of Azure, Fabric, Data Lake, or Power BI
  • Knowledge of SQL and/or Python
  • Ability to design and deploy data pipelines for ETL, analytics, and machine learning
  • Strong consulting or stakeholder-facing skills

Bonus:

  • Experience with Quantexa or willingness to cross-train
  • Knowledge of Microsoft DevOps practices and CI/CD tooling
  • Understanding of sustainable finance, ESG, or financial crime analytics
Education & Experience

Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, STEM, or a related field

~5+ years of experience in data engineering or consulting

Prior experience in financial services, digital transformation, or regulatory change is highly valued
