Sytac in Amsterdam is seeking a Data Engineer – Market Data & Reporting Platform to join a fast-paced team that ships frequently and iterates quickly. You'll build and maintain Airflow-based data pipelines, automate reporting workflows, and integrate with financial vendors across environments.

You will work in a containerised, cloud-native setup, writing clean Python and SQL, collaborating with the wider team, and applying AI coding assistants to accelerate development and quality.

Qualifications

• Strong Python fundamentals, write clean, well-typed, testable code.
• Strong SQL skills, write and optimise complex queries without ORM first.
• Airflow experience and workflow orchestration expertise.
• Comfortable with containerised, cloud-native infrastructure.
• Able to move fast without cutting corners; know when to ship.
• Proactive communicator who grasps context quickly in a busy environment.
• Confident using AI coding assistants daily.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Airflow-based data pipelines and automation workflows.
• Integrate with external financial data providers and internal services.
• Manage configuration and deployments across test, UAT, and production environments.
• Contribute to shared libraries, CLI tooling, and automated reporting infra.
• Collaborate with the wider team to scope, review, and ship changes end-to-end.
• Use AI coding assistants as part of the daily workflow.
