Job summary

ETRMServices is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to lead enterprise-scale data integration in the energy trading domain. You will design scalable pipelines and collaborate with customers, analysts and engineering teams to deliver accurate, timely information across the organization.

The role requires strong Python, SQL, and data platform experience with a focus on governance, security and production readiness. Based in the Netherlands, you will contribute to both real-time and batch solutions.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in data engineering, data integration or related engineering roles.
• Strong Python, PL/SQL, Oracle, Apache Kafka and Snowflake experience.
• Experience building batch and real-time data pipelines.
• Understanding of data ingestion, transformation, performance optimization, governance and security.
• Experience with CI/CD and modern software development practices.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and customer communication skills.
• Knowledge of wholesale power, gas or environmental trading.
• Based in the Netherlands.

Responsibilities

• Design analytical data models and ensure data quality, lineage, observability and governance.

• Define integration standards, development practices, deployment approaches and modern data architecture patterns.
• Participate in code and architecture reviews.
• Support production environments delivering mission-critical trading, pricing and operational data.
• Diagnose complex integration and data pipeline issues while improving monitoring, alerting and operational resilience.
• Work with managed services teams to ensure service reliability and operational excellence.
• Partner with customers to understand requirements and translate business processes into scalable technical solutions.
• Communicate designs and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Role Description:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to lead the design, development and operation of enterprise-scale data integration solutions within the energy trading domain.

You will play a key role in connecting ETRM platforms, market data providers and pricing systems with modern data platforms and analytical environments. Working closely with customers, analysts and engineering teams, you will design scalable data pipelines that deliver accurate, trusted and timely information across the organization.

This is a hands-on engineering role requiring strong technical expertise, solution architecture skills and experience delivering production-grade data integration solutions.
