Job description

About the role

As a Senior Data Consultant HR Tech, you help clients unlock more value from their HR and payroll data. You advise on data strategy, reporting, data quality, and the responsible use of AI, while leading data migration and analytics projects. Working closely with technical colleagues, HR stakeholders, and IT teams, you deliver practical, data-driven insights and solutions in areas such as Equal Pay, employee benefits, and data maturity. In addition, you coach junior and mid-level colleagues and contribute to the further development of Highberg’s HR Tech consulting services and expertise.

Why Highberg?

At Highberg, everything revolves around people. Around colleagues who want to make a difference, take ownership, and work together based on trust and craftsmanship. We believe real change happens when strategy, execution, and humanity come together. That starts with our own team. This is why we create an environment where you can continue to grow, apply your expertise, and expand it further. An environment where you can make lasting impact.

Bringing strategy to life

At Highberg, you are not a remote advisor. You work closely with clients on challenges that truly matter, from strategy through to implementation. This allows you to make an immediate impact and see the results of your work in practice.

Collaborative, human, and professional

We work closely together, share knowledge, and strengthen one another to achieve the best possible outcomes. Our culture is open and built on trust, with room for both ambition and humanity. We listen, celebrate successes, and hold each other accountable, always with attention to people as well as to quality.

European outlook, locally rooted

With teams in the Netherlands and the DACH region, you work in an organization with a broad, European perspective. At the same time, the culture remains personal and close-knit. This gives you the opportunity to collaborate internationally at a high level, within a committed and engaged team.

Culture as a catalyst

Our culture is a key reason why colleagues enjoy working at Highberg. We place trust in our people, value initiative, and believe it is important that everyone can continue to develop. This enables you to get the best out of yourself, while together contributing to sustainable growth.

Your role

Examples of projects and activities you will take on in this role include:

  • You lead data migration projects during the implementation of new HR or payroll systems, advising on data retention, scoping, and ensuring high data quality and tangible business outcomes.
  • You translate complex data-related challenges, such as Equal Pay analyses, employee benefits utilization, or recruitment process optimization, into clear insights and actionable recommendations for management.
  • You advise clients on their data strategy, reporting capabilities, and the responsible use of AI within HR.
  • You contribute to the development of the team’s service offerings and expertise, while coaching colleagues in their professional growth.
Who are you?

You are an independent and pragmatic data professional with an affinity for HR, payroll, business processes, and IT. You enjoy combining in-depth expertise with client interaction, project leadership, and advisory work. You are hands‑on and willing to take on challenges outside your comfort zone when needed. This versatility enables you to make a strong impact in the projects you lead.

You recognize yourself in the following profile:

  • You independently lead a data project or workstream and focus on delivering tangible results.
  • You have strong analytical skills and the ability to distinguish between key priorities and less critical details.
  • You translate complex data-related challenges into clear insights and practical actions.
  • You communicate effectively with both subject matter experts and management stakeholders.
  • You thrive in a consultancy environment where you take ownership and hold others accountable for their responsibilities.
  • You enjoy sharing knowledge and supporting the development of your colleagues.
  • You have a good understanding of HR processes and recognize that data only creates value when it is connected to business reality.
  • You are curious about developments in data, analytics, AI, and HR Tech.
What are we asking?

For this role, we are looking for someone with a strong foundation in data and the seniority to independently lead client engagements.

We are looking for:

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in data, analytics, reporting, data migration, or data quality.
  • Experience with HR, payroll, or workforce data is a strong advantage.
  • Experience leading projects, workstreams, or client engagements.
  • Affinity with HR IT systems such as Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, AFAS, ADP, Visma Raet, or similar platforms.
  • A completed bachelor’s or master’s degree, preferably in Data, Business Administration, Human Resource Management, Information Management, or IT.
  • Fluency in Dutch and English, both written and spoken.
  • A professional, client‑focused mindset and a strong drive to deliver results.
What are we offering?

We offer an attractive and comprehensive benefits package: including a gross monthly salary of €5,500 to €8,000 based on full‑time employment, a performance‑based bonus, generous vacation days, a learning and development budget, a company car or mobility allowance, and a pension scheme.

  • The best of two worlds: the intellectual sharpness and quality of a high end consultancy firm, combined with the agility and engagement of an entrepreneurial organization.
  • Responsibility, autonomy, and entrepreneurship: from the very start, you take ownership in projects and client work, with plenty of room to take initiative, supported by experienced colleagues.
  • Collaborating in an accessible environment: you work in a setting where decision making is close to the action and ideas quickly gain traction.
  • Flexible working with strong connection: hybrid working is possible, combined with regular moments where we come together for collaboration, knowledge sharing, and team activities such as inspiring sessions and the Highberg Festival.

About the team

At Highberg, we are proactive, positive, and collaborative by nature. We support one another in learning new things and bringing out the best in ourselves. You will work on complex HR and data‑related challenges in teams with diverse backgrounds, expertise, and levels of seniority. We actively share knowledge, collaborate on developing our service offerings, and regularly connect through knowledge‑sharing sessions, social events, and company‑wide Highberg gatherings.
