Job summary

Deloitte Netherlands is seeking a Senior Consultant to help analyze and optimize end-to-end trading processes across power, gas, LNG, crude, and environmental products. You will assess ETRM/CTRM landscapes, design target operating models, and drive data-driven trading initiatives in a client-facing role.

The role requires experience in commodity trading or risk management, strong analytics, and the ability to deliver both consulting projects and technical solutions.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years' experience in commodity/energy trading, consulting, risk management or a related industry role.
• Solid grasp of trade-life-cycle fundamentals and how commercial drivers translate into system and process requirements.
• You can deliver both consulting projects and technical solutions.
• Exposure to ETRM/CTRM platforms and data flows; comfortable analyzing front-, middle- and back-office needs.
• Familiarity with pricing models, valuation methodologies, market risk (VaR, Greeks) and credit risk frameworks.
• Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder-management skills; able to operate in agile, client-facing teams.
• Degree in Business, Engineering, Economics, CS, Mathematics or related field; postgraduate study or certifications are a plus.
• Enthusiasm for continuous learning, creative problem solving and working across multiple commodities and geographies.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and document end-to-end trading processes—deal capture, optimization, logistics, risk, settlements and reporting across multiple products.
• Assess current ETRM/CTRM landscapes; identify data and workflow gaps and recommend improvements vendor-agnostic.
• Design target operating models, control frameworks and roadmaps aligning people, process and technology.
• Drive digital initiatives such as data-driven trading and automation proof-of-concepts.
• Facilitate client workshops, manage work-stream deliverables, track risks and provide clear status updates to senior stakeholders.
• Contribute to proposals, market research and thought-leadership pieces expanding our ETRM offering.
• Develop and validate pricing models for multi-commodity derivatives; calibrate to market conditions.
• Support valuation frameworks for complex trading portfolios and risk reporting.
