Job summary

Danone is seeking an experienced Senior Clinical Data Scientist to grow capabilities in non-randomized evidence generation and real-world data science. You will provide statistical oversight for studies outside traditional RCTs, including observational studies, pragmatic trials, and single-arm analyses, with a focus on digital health tool evaluation.

You will establish methodological standards, mentor statisticians and programmers, and collaborate across research programs to strengthen evidence

Qualifications

• PhD/MSc in quantitative discipline with strong statistical background.
• Experience designing and analysing observational/non-randomised studies.
• Experience coaching or mentoring other technical experts.

Senior Clinical Data Scientist

About the job

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Data Scientist to grow Danone's capability in non-randomized evidence generation and real-world data science.

In this role, you will provide statistical oversight for evidence-generation initiatives that mainly fall outside the traditional randomized controlled trial framework, this can include observational studies, pragmatic trials, single-arm studies. A strong focus will be supporting the evaluation of studies in which digital health tools are developed.

You will establish methodological standards, provide expert scientific guidance, mentor colleagues, and contribute to evidence-generation decisions across research programs and business functions. You will play a key role in strengthening Danone's ability to generate evidence from real-world settings, through digital health tools.

You are a self-starter who identifies opportunities and acts on them, taking initiative and bringing structure where needed.

Main responsibilities

• Define and drive methodological standards for observational research, real-world evidence generation and digital health tool (AI algorithm) evaluation. Identify emerging methodological developments and translate them into practical applications within Danone.
• Advise stakeholders on study design, fit-for-purpose evidence strategies, sources of bias, confounding and where feasible causal inference approaches.
• Provide senior review and oversight of protocols, statistical analysis plans and study reports. Mentor and coach statisticians, statistical programmers and clinical data scientists.
• Build strong internal and external networks to advance evidence-generation capabilities.

• Statistical oversight across a portfolio of studies and digital health initiatives.

• Capability-building initiatives, training materials and mentoring outcomes.

About you

You are a scientifically rigorous and commercially minded data scientist who enjoys translating complex methodological challenges into practical evidence-generation strategies. You are comfortable influencing senior stakeholders, navigating ambiguity, and building capability across teams. Combining deep expertise in observational research with a collaborative mindset, you help ensure that evidence generated through clinical studies and digital health solutions is robust, credible and fit for decision-making.

You bring:

• PhD or MSc in Biostatistics, Statistics, Epidemiology or a related quantitative discipline.
• Experience designing and analysing observational studies and other non-randomised evidence-generation approaches.
• Experience coaching and developing other technical experts.
• Takes initiative and demonstrates strong ownership.
