Job summary

Foodera Technologies seeks a Senior Category Manager to lead strategic procurement across capital equipment and manufacturing categories. You will shape category strategies, manage supplier partnerships, and drive value beyond price while balancing cost, quality, and risk.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent level of working and thinking.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, or Category Management.
• Experience in machine building, capital equipment, industrial manufacturing, or project-driven environments.
• Proven success in developing and implementing category strategies with measurable business results.
• Strong experience in supplier development, contract negotiations, Should Costing, and TCO methodologies.
• Commercially driven with a solid technical understanding and data-driven mindset.
• Capable of influencing stakeholders at all organizational levels, including senior leadership.
• Fluent in English; Dutch and experience with SAP are considered a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute category strategies aligned with Foodera Technologies’ business objectives and growth plans
• Analyze spend, supplier performance, market developments, and supply chain risks to identify opportunities and mitigate challenges
• Build and apply Should Cost Models and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analyses to optimize sourcing decisions and challenge supplier pricing
• Lead complex negotiations on contracts, pricing structures, and commercial agreements
• Establish, develop, and manage strategic supplier partnerships focused on long-term value creation
• Develop alternative sourcing strategies to strengthen supply continuity and reduce business risk
• Collaborate with Engineering on standardization, modularization, value engineering, and design-for-manufacturing initiatives
• Support Project Management in achieving project timelines and customer commitments
• Act as a strategic sparring partner for internal stakeholders and contribute to the further professionalization of Procurement

This is a senior strategic role within our Procurement organization. Working closely with Engineering, Operations, Project Management, and key suppliers, you directly contribute to the success of our food processing systems delivered worldwide.

As Senior Category Manager, you are responsible for developing and executing the strategy for one or more purchasing categories. You look beyond price and focus on maximizing value throughout the entire product lifecycle while balancing cost, quality, innovation, and risk.

You are a seasoned procurement professional who is comfortable operating at both strategic and tactical levels. You combine analytical strength with strong stakeholder management skills and have a proven track record in a technical manufacturing environment.
