Job summary

Nebius Group’s YDB Development Team is hiring mid- and senior-level software developers with C++ expertise. The role focuses on building a high-performance, distributed storage and database platform used across regions.

You’ll evolve architecture for new hardware, optimize storage systems, and ensure efficient operation on diverse hardware including NVIDIA GB300 and NVMe. Hybrid/EU remote options for seniors.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience developing high-load systems in C or C++.
• Experience developing high-performance, low-latency software components.
• Understanding of core dumps, flame graphs and sanitizer-enabled builds.
• Understanding of CPU caches, atomic operations and NUMA architectures.

Responsibilities

• Evolve YDB’s architecture for new hardware, redesigning core components when incremental optimization is insufficient.
• Develop wide erasure-coding schemes to reduce space amplification while maintaining durability and availability.
• Reduce recovery and rebalancing times after device outages while limiting impact on foreground workloads.
• Provide system capabilities and interfaces for fleet-wide automation to deploy, configure, upgrade and diagnose hundreds of production clusters.
