Job summary

Bitvavo is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to strengthen our growing platform. You will collaborate with engineering leaders to design and implement high-performance services for a global crypto exchange.

You will tackle challenging technical problems, drive scalable architectures, and participate in decisions about stacks, tooling, and production reliability to ensure smooth operations for millions of users.

Qualifications

• Experience with trading products in retail space.
• 8+ years of software development experience.
• Expertise in event-driven microservices architecture, with Kafka.
• Strong proficiency in JVM languages, preferably Kotlin.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and design patterns.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Engineering Manager, Staff Engineer and colleagues to craft high quality software used by our customers.
• Dive into technical challenges, building solutions to guarantee peak performance across our systems.
• Actively participate in pivotal decisions on technology stacks and architecture.
• Participate in operational rotations to resolve incidents in our production environment.
