Job summary

elockers is seeking a hands-on Senior Back-end Developer to strengthen a live microservices platform that handles real-time payments and locker integrations. You will design, build, and debug complex distributed systems as an individual contributor, with a focus on reliability and performance.

Ideal candidates bring deep Node.js/microservices experience, strong communication, and ownership mentality. Familiarity with DigitalOcean App Platform, Adyen payments, and IoT hardware is a plus.

Qualifications

• Deep, hands-on technical seniority; independently design, build, and debug complex distributed systems.
• Strong, current Node.js and microservices expertise.
• Clear communicator who works well in a small, fast-moving team.
• Genuine ownership mentality for business-critical systems.
• Cloud/platform engineering experience, ideally DigitalOcean App Platform.
• Payments or marketplace experience (Adyen, PSPs, KYC).
• IoT/hardware integration experience is a genuine plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and debug complex distributed systems within our microservices platform.
• Work on real-time payments and traffic spikes during live events with high reliability.
• Connect software to physical locks and hardware in a payments-enabled locker ecosystem.
• Maintain engineering discipline: CI/CD, documentation, and AI-assisted development.
