Job summary

Lefebvre Sdu, Dutch legal knowledge leader, is building GenIA-L and seeks a Senior Software Engineer to own backend Node.js services, authentication, and related components. You’ll shape the platform with a strong focus on stability and scalability.

The role blends backend leadership with occasional frontend work, using TypeScript, GraphQL, Redis, Docker, AWS, and Kubernetes. Two days weekly in The Hague drive collaboration and growth.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience with TypeScript and Node.js in production.
• Strong knowledge of authentication/authorization systems (OAuth 2.0 / OIDC).
• Ability to untangle complex system integrations around permissions and roles.
• Ownership mindset with stakeholder management and documentation.
• Frontend exposure to collaborate, not a primary strength.

Responsibilities

• Own backend Node.js services for authentication, authorization, and user management.
• Develop PDF export and chat delivery components via Redis.
• Drive continuous improvement, stabilization, and simplification of systems.
• Collaborate on frontend tasks as needed and document decisions.
• Take end-to-end ownership of platform components and guide others.
