IKEA Gruppe in Amsterdam is seeking a Backend Engineer to build and scale the backend and API foundations for IKEA Kreativ, collaborating with Geomagical Labs in California. You will design, implement, and maintain backend services using Python and Django, focusing on reliability and performance.

Join a distributed team across time zones, contribute to API features, and help drive scalable architecture for millions of customers while aligning with IKEA values.

Formación

• 3+ years of Python and Django in production environments.
• 3+ years of SQL experience, preferably PostgreSQL.
• Experience with Celery or similar background task frameworks.
• Strong English communication skills and collaborative working style.

Responsabilidades

• Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs powering the IKEA Kreativ platform.
• Work hands-on with Python and Django on new features and existing systems.
• Collaborate with Geomagical Labs engineers in California on design and integrations.
• Scope, design, and implement new API features and backend subsystems.
• Improve scalability, reliability, and performance of backend systems used by millions of customers.
• Integrate with other IKEA service teams across the Home Imagination Platform.
• Contribute to engineering practices: code reviews, documentation, automated testing, and operations.
