Job summary

Healthy Workers, an Amsterdam-based AI SaaS scale-up, seeks a senior back-end engineer. You will shape the architecture and ensure the platform is ready for Europe with scalable APIs, data models, and robust infrastructure.

You’ll work with the Data team and SkySpark, own production, review code, and mentor colleagues. Fluency in English and residence in the Netherlands required; visa sponsorship is not offered.

Qualifications

• Experienced back-end developer with Java or Kotlin.
• Designed scalable APIs and data models and made architecture decisions.
• Own production: debugging, monitoring and incident resolution.
• Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD are part of daily toolkit.
• Contribute through reviews, knowledge sharing and documentation.
• Fluency in English and residence in the Netherlands.
• Visa sponsorship or relocation is not offered.

Responsibilities

• Shape the back-end architecture and write down the decisions, so nobody has to guess a year from now why something was built this way
• Get the platform ready for Europe: scalable, fast and reliable, from API to infrastructure
• Help build AI features that control building systems more intelligently
• Work with our Data team and SkySpark to make Healthy Workers the single source of truth for all building and customer data
• Keep production healthy and the bug backlog under control
• Coach colleagues, review code within one working day and make sure no service depends on a single person
