Job summary

Quatt is seeking a Senior App Developer to own the Quatt Home mobile app. You will lead architecture, translate UI/UX into polished interfaces, and work with a live IoT backend streaming data from thousands of devices.

You’ll collaborate with product, design, backend and embedded teams, write tests, ensure performance, and mentor peers. 3 days in the office, 2 days remote, and visa sponsorship not required for the Netherlands.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of mobile engineering experience with strong React Native/TypeScript skills or equivalent seniority.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
• Proven track record deploying mobile apps to App Store and Google Play.
• Solid understanding of mobile app architecture, performance optimization, and security.
• AI-driven engineering environment; value in system design and quality control.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and automated testing for mobile apps.
• Experience collaborating with backend engineers to design, implement, and consume APIs.
• Excellent problem-solving and ability to work independently or in a team.
• Visa sponsorship not required to work in the Netherlands.

As our Senior App Developer, you will be the technical authority for our Quatt Home app (built with React Native and TypeScript), taking the lead on projects that are critical to our success. Our product family spans hybrid and all-electric heat pumps, cooling, and home batteries — and the app is how our customers and installers control and understand all of it. It talks to a real-time IoT backend streaming second-level data from a fleet of tens of thousands of devices, so you'll be building rich, responsive experiences on top of live data at scale, not just screens over a CRUD API. You'll work closely with other teams, designing and implementing features across our product lineup to ensure that our users are happy and our app is scalable, maintainable, and built to last.

What You'll Be Doing

• Drive the architecture and development of high-quality, scalable, and impactful mobile apps for our customers and installers using React Native.
• Lead key projects from concept to completion, acting as the technical point of contact, managing stakeholder communication, and delegating tasks to ensure successful delivery.
• Take ownership of features, translating UI/UX designs into well-crafted and intuitive mobile interfaces with a keen eye for detail.
• Build on live device data — surface telemetry, controls and energy insights for heat pumps and home batteries, and make it feel instant and reliable.
• Partner closely with product, design, backend and embedded teams to shape the future of our mobile experience.
• Take ownership beyond the merge: write thorough tests, monitor what you ship, and debug production issues from the device through the backend to the screen.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize for performance, scalability, and an exceptional user experience across all devices.
• Mentor and support other developers through thoughtful code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge sharing.
• Proactively identify and drive improvements for our products, codebase, and internal processes, helping to establish and champion technical best practices for the team.
• Continuously explore and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency and keep our applications on the cutting edge.

What you'll need?

• A genuine desire to make a positive impact on the world and fight climate change.
• 5+ years of mobile engineering experience, with strong React Native / TypeScript skills (or the seniority to get there fast), and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
• Demonstrable experience developing, testing, and deploying mobile applications to both the App Store and Google Play.
• A solid understanding of mobile application architecture, performance optimization, and security best practices.
• We are an AI-driven engineering team: AI agents write most of our code, and engineers direct, review and own the result. You should be excited to work this way — your value is in system design, judgment and quality control, not in typing speed.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks for mobile apps.
• Proven ability to collaborate with backend engineers to design, implement, and consume APIs for a seamless mobile experience.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment.
• You do not require visa sponsorship to live and work in the Netherlands.
