Job summary

Monks is seeking a highly skilled Animator & Video Editor to join our team. You will create high-impact video assets and dynamic animations for editorial, digital, and social platforms, blending traditional workflows with Generative AI tools.

The role requires a fast, adaptable communicator who can manage end-to-end production, collaborate with Art Directors and Creative Strategy, and optimize assets for multiple formats while staying on-brand.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as Audiovisual Designer, Motion Graphics Artist, or Video Editor in agency/editorial or entertainment environments.
• Core technical expertise in video editing, motion graphics, compositing, rotoscoping, tracking, color grading, and audio post-production.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills; able to manage projects independently or with teams in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Full-Lifecycle Production: Develop complex 2D animation and video projects from concept to final compositing and audio mastering.
• Motion Graphics & Animation: Create dynamic motion graphics, character animations, and customizable motion templates.
• AI-Assisted Workflows: Integrate Generative AI platforms for visual generation and asset creation.
• Adaptability & Optimization: Resize and optimize assets for multiple formats and platforms.
• Collaboration: Work with Art Directors, Copywriters, and Creative Strategy teams to solve communication challenges.

About the Opportunity

We are looking for a highly skilled, versatile, and forward-thinking Animator & Video Editor to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating high-impact video assets and dynamic animations for editorial, digital, and social media platforms.

Our ideal candidate is a fast, flexible go-getter with a strong artistic eye and an eager curiosity for modern technology. You combine classic visual storytelling and traditional animation/editing workflows with cutting-edge Generative AI tools and advanced post-production techniques.

In this role, you will:

• Full-Lifecycle Production: Develop complex 2D animation and video projects from initial concept and design to final compositing, editing, and audio mastering.
• Motion Graphics & Animation: Create dynamic motion graphics, kinetic typography, character animations (2D & 3D nice to have), cel animation, and customizable motion templates.
• AI-Assisted Workflows: Integrate advanced Generative AI platforms into everyday workflows for visual generation, style exploration, asset creation, and video/audio processing.
• Adaptability & Optimization: Resize, adapt, and optimize video assets across multiple formats, platforms, and social media channels.
• Collaboration: Partner with Art Directors, Copywriters, and Creative Strategy teams to deliver technical and creative solutions to communication challenges.

Nice to Have Skills:

• Creative Concept & Storytelling: Generate creative ideas, storyboards, and scripts to build compelling audiovisual narratives for editorial and social platforms.

Required Experience & Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience as an Audiovisual Designer, Motion Graphics Artist, or Video Editor in agency, editorial, or entertainment environments.
• Bachelor’s Degree (BA) in Audiovisual Design, Animation, Digital Arts, Graphic Design, or related fields (desired).
• Core Technical Expertise: Expert-level knowledge in video editing, motion graphics, compositing, rotoscoping, tracking, color grading, and audio post-production (desired)
• Communication & Management: Strong organizational skills, creative problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to manage projects independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
