Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Senior Android Developer to join a fully remote, international team in the Netherlands. You will build native Android apps with Kotlin, leveraging Jetpack Compose and Android Views while embedding strong accessibility practices.

You will work on implementing TalkBack support, accessibility APIs, and content descriptions, contributing to WCAG 2.1/2.2 compliance across projects. Collaboration with an international team is essential for success.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of native Android development.
• Strong practical knowledge of Kotlin.
• Experience with Jetpack Compose and/or Android Views.
• Extensive hands-on accessibility feature experience in native Android apps.
• Experience using TalkBack.
• Experience with Android Accessibility APIs and/or Compose Semantics.
• Knowledge of content descriptions, accessibility roles and states, and focus management.
• Experience with scalable text and accessible touch targets.
• Experience conducting accessibility testing, particularly with TalkBack.
• Knowledge of WCAG 2.1 and 2.2.
• Good English communication and collaboration in an international team.

Responsibilities

• Develop native Android apps with Kotlin using Jetpack Compose and Android Views.
• Ensure accessibility is integrated throughout the development lifecycle.
• Improve stability, performance and code quality.
• Implement accessibility features for inclusive experiences.
• Ensure compatibility with TalkBack and Accessibility APIs.
• Configure content descriptions, roles and states for assistive tech.
• Manage accessibility focus and navigation for a consistent UX.
• Support scalable text and appropriately sized touch targets.
• Conduct accessibility testing, particularly with TalkBack.
• Validate implementations against WCAG 2.1/2.2 standards.
