Job summary

Accenture Netherlands is seeking a Senior AI-Native Java Engineer. You will design and deliver enterprise Java applications, combining strong Java engineering with AI-Augmented software delivery.

You will drive AI-enabled SDLC practices, build AI-powered solutions with LLMs and AI agents, and collaborate with architects, consultants, and clients to transform software delivery. A leadership mindset and Dutch language skills are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or related field.
• Approximately 7 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong Java expertise with AI-enabled delivery and modern development practices.

Responsibilities

• Drive adoption of AI-Augmented SDLC across the software delivery lifecycle.

At Accenture Netherlands, we're looking for a Senior AI-Native Java Engineer with around 7 years of experience who combines strong Java engineering expertise with a passion for AI-Augmented Software Delivery, Agentic Engineering, and modern development practices.

As part of our Technology practice, you will help clients transform traditional software engineering into AI-powered, high-performing delivery organizations.

What you'll do:

• Design and develop enterprise-scale applications using Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and Cloud technologies.

• Drive adoption of AI-Augmented SDLC practices across the software development lifecycle.

• Build AI-powered solutions leveraging LLMs, AI agents, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and intelligent automation.

• Implement Spec-Driven Development using OpenAPI, AsyncAPI, and API-first engineering methodologies.

• Collaborate with architects, AI engineers, consultants, and client teams to deliver innovative business solutions.

• Mentor engineering teams and help establish best practices for AI-Native Engineering.

What we're looking for

• Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.

• Experience: Approximately 7 years of professional software engineering experience.

• Technical Skills:

  • Java 17+, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs

  • Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud)

  • DevOps, CI/CD, GitOps, and Platform Engineering

  • Distributed systems and modern software architecture

  • API-First and Spec-Driven Development

• AI Engineering Experience:

  • AI-Augmented SDLC

  • Generative AI and LLM-based solutions

  • AI Agents and Agentic Workflows

  • RAG and modern AI application architectures

  • AI-powered developer tooling and engineering productivity platforms

• Leadership: Strong communication skills, technical leadership, growth mindset, and a passion for continuous innovation.

Dutch language skills are a strong advantage, as many of our engagements involve close collaboration with Dutch-speaking clients and stakeholders.

Bonus points for

• Experience with Model Context Protocol (MCP)

• Experience with AI governance and Responsible AI

• Knowledge of vector databases and knowledge retrieval architectures

• Experience with Internal Developer Platforms (IDPs)
