Job summary

NN seeks a Security Architect with AI focus to shape NN's AI Security Architecture and strengthen the cyber defence domain. You will translate strategy into practical, scalable security solutions with product management and engineering teams.

You will lead AI security roadmaps, define standards, guide DevOps security, and represent the CISO in governance boards. A Master’s in CS with AI focus and 5+ years in IT architecture are required; CISSP-ISSAP/CCSP preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or comparable with focus on AI and Cybersecurity.
• 5 years of working experience in IT architecture.
• Formal methodologies (e.g. SABSA); CISSP-ISSAP or CCSP preferred.
• Regulatory, risk, and compliance awareness in financial services a plus.
• Ability to define end-to-end security architectures and AI roadmaps.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain NN's Security Architecture and roadmap.
• Drive NN's Cyber Defence Architecture development.
• Shape and evolve the AI Security Architecture with enterprise architects.
• Act as AI security SME, advising stakeholders on AI risks, controls, governance, and architecture.
• Represent CISO interests in governance bodies like Data and AI Architecture Board.
• Define AI security principles, standards, and guidelines aligned with NN strategy.
• Identify and drive AI security capabilities and services for secure AI adoption.

As a Security Architect within Group CISO, you are a recognized expert shaping how we secure NN in an increasingly digital and AI-driven world. You drive the development of NN's AI Security Architecture, ensuring AI adoption is secure, compliant, and scalable, while also contributing to the evolution of our Group Security Architecture and strengthening the architectural foundation of our Cyber Defence domain. Working closely with product management and engineering teams, you translate strategy into practical, scalable, and secure solutions, leveraging industry standards, open technologies, and cloud platforms.

What you are going to do

• Develop and maintain NN's Security Architecture and roadmap, ensuring our information systems remain secure, resilient, and aligned with business objectives
• Drive the further development of NN's Cyber Defence Architecture and guide product management and engineering teams in strengthening our cyber defence capabilities
• Shape and evolve the AI Security Architecture in close collaboration with the Security Architecture team and key enterprise and domain architects
• Act as an AI security subject matter expert, identifying emerging trends and advising technology and business stakeholders on AI-related risks, controls, governance, and architecture
• Represent the interests of the CISO and broader security concerns in internal governance bodies, such as the Data and AI Architecture Board
• Define AI security principles, standards, and guidelines aligned with NN strategy, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices
• Identify and drive the AI security capabilities, products, and services that enable the secure adoption of AI across NN Group
• Support DevOps teams in designing and implementing secure, scalable, and compliant solutions

• Salary between € 6.378 and € 8.504 depending on your knowledge and experience based on a 36 hour working week

Who you are

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or comparable with focus on AI and Cybersecurity, and 5 years of working experience in IT architecture
• Strong background in security architecture with formal methodologies (e.g. SABSA); certifications such as CISSP‑ISSAP or CCSP are preferred
• Solid understanding of regulatory, risk, and compliance requirements impacting data and AI, with experience working in financial services preferred
• Ability to define, document, and communicate end‑to‑end security architectures and develop multi‑year AI security roadmaps aligned with business strategy
• Proven experience in cyber defence architecture, covering monitoring, detection, response, threat intelligence, and automation, with the ability to drive the cyber defence roadmap and support delivery teams
• Hands‑on experience securing cloud‑native and data‑driven platforms (e.g. Azure/AWS), including identity, data, API, and platform security for AI workloads
• Proven experience securing AI/ML systems, including data pipelines, model training and inference, and protection against data leakage, model abuse, and adversarial threats
• Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English, with proven ability to act as a trusted advisor to senior and C‑level stakeholders and to guide engineers and architects in an agile organization

Who you will work with

As the Security Architect with AI focus, you will be part of the Group CISO Security Architecture team and report to the Enterprise Security Architect. You work closely with Group CISO and central IT teams and the local IT organizations of NN's business units and countries, ensuring alignment between enterprise‑level strategy and local execution. In this role, you collaborate with fellow architects and actively contribute to architecture boards where key architectural decisions are defined and governed. You align closely with security officers across NN Group and guide DevOps teams responsible for developing and delivering agentic AI products, helping them embed security seamlessly throughout the AI lifecycle.
