Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Controls Technician for a seasonal contract to support the United States Antarctic Program. You will perform maintenance, calibration, and repair of advanced control systems in challenging environmental conditions, with duties spanning diagnostics, documentation, and safety adherence.

The role requires five years in complex controls installations, familiarity with DDC/PLC, and the ability to deploy to Antarctica.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Minimum five years of experience in installation and maintenance of complex controls systems with multiple interactions.
• Knowledge of how DDC, PLC, and other industrial control systems work.
• Experience with DDC/PLC or similar Ladder-Logic programming.
• Ability to read and interpret design drawings, specifications, and diagrams.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Willingness to deploy to Antarctica for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Commission, diagnose, calibrate, maintain, and repair environmental-control systems.
• Analyze and repair DDC/PLC and control system components.
• Perform preventive maintenance and component replacements.
• Document hours, tasks, materials, and processes.
• Adhere to SOPs and contribute to safety programs.
• Deploy to remote facilities for day trips or extended periods (McMurdo only).
• Ensure compliance with ASC Environmental, Safety and Health requirements.
