Job summary

European Space Agency (ESA) - ESTEC, Noordwijk, Netherlands, seeks a SatCom payload lead to drive end-to-end development, validation and performance of telecom payloads and ground segment for the Novacom I / OneSat partnership. You will liaise with the prime contractor and satellite operators to ensure requirements align with schedule and budget.

You will lead a multidisciplinary engineering team, chair reviews, manage risks and costs, and report progress to the Project Manager and ESA

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in engineering and four years of relevant professional experience, or a bachelor’s degree with eight years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, qualification, on-ground verification and in-orbit validation of telecom payloads and ground-segment software.
• Define and maintain payload and end-to-end system requirements, budgets, interfaces and concepts.
• Act as technical point of contact with prime contractor, satellite operator and partners.
• Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams and coordinate cross-disciplinary activities.
• Prepare and conduct payload, ground-segment and end-to-end reviews, co-chair reviews with partners.
• Monitor progress, costs, risks, and ensure delivery within constraints; report to Project Manager and ESA management.
