Job summary

vidaXL in Venlo, Netherlands, seeks an experienced SAP Technical Solution Architect to own the SAP S/4HANA landscape, drive technical innovation across ERP, SCM, SAP BTP extensibility and DevOps automation. You will collaborate with architects, developers, product owners and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and future-ready solutions.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience as Senior SAP Developer, Tech Lead, or SAP Solution Architect.
• Strong expertise in modern ABAP, object-oriented development, RAP, CDS Views, OData services.
• Hands-on experience with SAP BTP extensibility (CAP).
• Solid understanding of SAP Fiori architecture and Fiori Elements development principles.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical architecture of SAP S/4HANA landscape and guide teams throughout the full development lifecycle.
• Drive Clean Core strategy by choosing SAP standard vs in-app extensibility or BTP side-by-side solutions.
• Lead modernization and automation initiatives including DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.

Job description

We're looking for a SAP Technical Solution Architect who enjoys taking ownership and turning complex business challenges into scalable technical solutions. You'll play a key role in shaping our SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud landscape and driving technical innovation across ERP, supply chain execution, SAP BTP extensibility, and DevOps automation. Working closely with architects, developers, product owners, and business stakeholders, you'll ensure our SAP ecosystem remains scalable, maintainable, secure, and ready for future growth.

You will:

• Own the technical architecture of our SAP S/4HANA landscape by designing scalable solutions, evaluating different implementation approaches, and guiding teams throughout the full development lifecycle;
• Drive our Clean Core strategy by defining when to use SAP standard capabilities, in-app extensibility, RAP development, or SAP BTP side-by-side solutions to deliver sustainable business value;
• Act as the technical authority for SAP development, promoting best practices, code quality, security standards, performance optimization, and architectural governance across teams;
• Lead modernization and automation initiatives, including DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, SAP Build solutions, AI-assisted development, and continuous improvements to our technology landscape;
• Partner with business stakeholders, product owners, project teams, and solution architects to translate business requirements into robust, future-proof solutions while balancing risk, cost, performance, and scalability;
• Own the technical architecture of our SAP S/4HANA landscape by designing scalable solutions, evaluating different implementation approaches, and guiding teams throughout the full development lifecycle;
• Work independently to prepare Technical design and architecture flow of SAP Interfaces, applications, and 3rd party integrations;
• Act as the bridge between our core backend and modern frontends. Design robust OData services (RAP) and utilize CDS annotations to enable out-of-the-box SAP Fiori Elements applications, setting the foundation for the UI developers;
• Support the SAP Lead in planning and implementing the SAP strategy/ roadmap and ensuring SAP Systems/ Solutions are compliant with audit and data privacy requirements;
• Support in landscape monitoring/ reporting, systems maintenance and upgrades thus ensuring high systems performance and availability for business continuity;

We ask:

• Extensive experience as a Senior SAP Developer, Technical Lead, or SAP Solution Architect within complex SAP S/4HANA environments;
• Strong expertise in modern ABAP, object-oriented development, RAP, CDS Views, OData services, and Clean Core-compliant development;
• Hands-on experience with SAP BTP extensibility, including Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP);
• Solid understanding of SAP Fiori architecture and Fiori Elements development principles;
• Experience working with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines in SAP environments;
• Strong architectural decision-making skills with the ability to evaluate multiple solution options and make informed recommendations;
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills;
• A proactive mindset, strong ownership, and a passion for continuous improvement and innovation;
