Job description

In a nutshell

We're looking for a Sales Controller who combines strong analytical skills with a proactive, business-oriented mindset. You're passionate about turning numbers into insights that drive commercial performance - not just reporting on what happened, but understanding why and what to do next. You bring structure to complex data, challenge the status quo, and help build scalable, future-proof sales controlling processes. As part of the Commercial team, you'll play a key role in ensuring the financial integrity and performance of our commercial activities in the Dutch market. Acting as the link between Buying, Finance and Data teams, you'll safeguard margin accuracy and be the driving factor for further process improvements and automation. You will be reporting to the Commercial Analytics Lead and be a key sparring partner to our commercial teams, helping them make smarter and data-driven financial decisions.

Tricks of the trade
  • Monitor purchase prices, margins and quantities of the entire assortment to safeguard financial integrity.
  • Analyze financial KPIs and category performance, identify opportunities, spot weak performance and drive financial planning.
  • Ensure all supplier deals are correctly documented, communicated, and reflected in reporting.
  • Oversee off-invoice discounts, counterpart agreements and receivables to ensure accuracy, compliance and timely follow-up.
  • Ensure consumer taxes are correctly configured and support year-end settlements.
Your superpowers

  • 1-2 years of experience in a controlling, FP&A, or commercial finance role.
  • Strong understanding of sales, pricing, and margin analysis.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills - comfortable with large data sets.
  • Strong attention to detail with a structured approach and accurate execution.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (or Google Sheets); experience with data tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, or SQL) is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills - able to translate complex financial insights into actionable business advice and convince your stakeholders.
  • Fluent in English (Dutch, German, or French is a plus).
  • Experience with ERP or accounting systems (Workday, SAP, or similar) is advantageous.
