Job description

Road empowers companies across the EV ecosystem with the technology and services they need to grow and deliver seamless charging experiences. We provide the critical infrastructure that the EV charging ecosystem depends on. We do this through a purpose-built software platform supported by our unique expertise and world-class customer service. Road currently serves over 200.000 customers and 20% of the Dutch market and we have firmly set our sights on repeating this success internationally. We exist at the intersection of cleantech and fintech and our mission is to make EV charging effortless for everyone.

About the role

Join our mission-driven organisation, leading innovation in a dynamic international and ambitious environment. We’re seeking a talented and motivated Sales & Account Management Intern to join our team. During the internship, you will be an active participant in the entire sales lifecycle and act as a bridge between market opportunities and our innovative solutions. You will identify potential clients and learn how to articulate the unique value Road brings to the industry. Working closely under the mentorship of our sales experts, you will help manage our pipeline, engage in consultative conversations, and support the closing of impactful deals. If you are proactive and eager to master the skill of B2B sales in a fast-paced environment, we would love to hear from you.

Your responsibilities include:
  • Gaining experience in prospecting by identifying potential clients through calls, emails, and networking activities. You’ll introduce Road and our product offerings, learning the fundamentals of customer outreach.
  • Shadowing experienced sales team members in product demos and consultative sales conversations. You’ll learn how to connect our solutions to clients’ needs through hands‑on training and mentorship.
  • Developing skills in CRM management by helping to maintain and update the pipeline of leads, logging client interactions, and ensuring timely follow‑ups.
  • Beginning to build relationships with clients under the guidance of a mentor, learning how to serve as a trusted advisor for their needs and advocate on their behalf within the company.
  • Assisting with preparing proposals, observing negotiations, and supporting deal closures. You’ll gain an understanding of the techniques used to address objections and achieve sales targets.
  • Learning how to conduct basic market research, staying informed about industry trends, competitors, and potential clients needs to support the sales strategy.
  • Collaborating with marketing, operations, product, and customer success teams to learn how different departments work together to enhance the client experience.
What do we value in our candidates?
  • You are currently enrolled in an MBO or HBO program in Business Administration, Commercial Economics, Business Studies or a related field. Please note you will need to be enrolled for the full duration of the internship.
  • You have a strong interest in reaching out to potential clients, initiating contact through calls and emails, and building client relationships.
  • You are highly motivated, proactive, and demonstrate strong presentation skills.
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and German.
  • You are available 32-40 hours per week for a preferred period of 6 months, starting from September 2026.
  • Relevant coursework or project experience focused on client engagement and business development is a plus.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems (such as Salesforce) is a plus.
What will you learn?
  • Master the fundamentals of lead generation and outreach.
  • Learn how to position our products as essential solutions through demos and deep‑dive conversations.
  • Gain experience in Salesforce, learning how to manage a complex sales pipeline.
  • Learn how to conduct targeted market research to stay ahead of industry trends and competitor moves.
  • Develop strong interfunctional collaboration skills.
  • Learn how to advocate for clients internally, ensuring their feedback influences our roadmap and operations.
What do we offer?

Beyond the basics, we want to make sure our interns have everything they need to thrive and help us achieve our mission. That’s why we offer a range of additional benefits designed to keep you happy, healthy, and supported - both inside and outside of work.

  • €500 internship allowance, paid out monthly.
  • An independent role with the opportunity to grow and possibly stay after your internship.
  • A chance to make a difference in a sustainable and growing organization.
  • A young, diverse and ambitious team.
  • A laptop for the duration of your internship.
  • The possibility to complete an internship project or thesis for your studies.
  • Daily varied and healthy food options for lunch provided by the company, and of course drinks at our own Road bar.
  • Besides working on our mission together, we like to have fun and connect with social events and team‑building activities.
  • Headquarters located in one of the most dynamic and cosmopolitan cities in Europe: Amsterdam.
  • We have received accreditation from SBB as a training company.

As we continue to grow, we’re working on adding more structure and clearer processes that will help us reach the next phase together. This isn’t just about how we work, but also about how we support each other as people.

Collaboration is one of our core values, and it shows in the way we connect day to day. We share a company-organized lunch every afternoon and regularly host voluntary activities outside of work. These moments help us recharge, get to know each other better, and keep our culture strong. Because in our eyes: a healthy team is the foundation of a healthy company.
